Chung, "A filtering diplexing antenna for dual-band operation with similar radiation patterns and low cross-polarization levels," IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, In press.
The unit offers greater than 45 dB mutual isolation at the center frequency [plus or minus]858 MHz, assuring optimal diplexing. Bandwidth is 300 MHz, but other units are available with different bandwidths.
As a result, diplexing and balance are needed to reject the RF or LO at the IF port in double-balanced designs.
The RF- and LO-to-IF isolations are chiefly set by the RF/IF diplexing tank circuit.
