DisplayPort 1.4

DisplayPort 1.4

The version of DisplayPort that added Display Stream Compression (DSC), which is considered lossless to the eye although it is compressed three to one. Support for forward error correction (FEC) and all major audio formats was included. In addition, because high dynamic range (HDR) was added to HDMI 2.0a, DisplayPort-to-HDMI 2.0a conversion was made possible by adding an HDR meta transport that uses DisplayPort's secondary data packet transport. See DisplayPort.
