Unfortunately, the authors extend the parallels between the cases of the Gordons and Dorr farther than the evidence allows, thus misinterpreting the meaning of the Dorr rebellion. They mistakenly suggest that, like the Gordons, Dorr's supporters were primarily poor Irish immigrants.
