Dusheti
a town and me administrative center of Dusheti Raion, Georgian SSR. Dusheti is located 33 km north of the Mtskheta station on the Tbilisi-Khashuri railway line and 7 km from the Georgian Military Road. Population, 5,000 (1970). The town has a vegetable-oil extraction plant and a cannery and is noted for the production of carpets and ceramics. There is a veterinary technicum and a museum of local lore. Dusheti is first mentioned in sources in 1215; it has been a town since 1801.
