East Bay Bike Path

Location:From Providence to Bristol along the abandoned railroad line.
Facilities:Picnic areas, restrooms (é), paved trail (é).
Activities:Bicycling, jogging, inline skating, cross-country skiing.
Special Features:Path will eventually link with Blackstone River Bikeway (see separate entry). This rails-to-trails bikepath passes over bridges, through state parks, and along the shore of Narragansett Bay, affording riders the sights and smells of its coves and marshes.

Billington noted that Rhode Island's portion of the Blackstone Valley Bikeway is being built in sections as funding allows, with the tentative goal of linking it with the East Bay Bike Path from Providence to Bristol by 2017.
The bicycle path will run from India Point Park in Providence, over the Washington Bridge into East Providence, and continue 22.5 kilometers (14 miles) along the East Bay Bike Path to Barrington and Bristol.
