Edmunds, George F. (Franklin)

(1826–1919) U.S. senator; born near Richmond, Vt. A lawyer, he went to the U.S. Senate (Rep., Vt.; 1866–91) where he was author of the Civil Rights Act of 1875 and coauthor of the Sherman Antitrust Act.
