Edouard Vuillard (1868-1940) is one of the seminal Nabi masterpieces which was painted when the artist was just 21 years old (estimate: Au5.5 million to Au7.5 million).
Assisted by the poet and critic Camille Mauclair and the painter
Edouard Vuillard, Lugne-Poe dedicated the Theatre de l'Oeuvre to presenting the work of the young French Symbolist playwrights and introducing major foreign dramas.

Edouard Vuillard, Bonnard's life-long friend, painted him standing in profile, thin and neat in jacket and trousers, inspecting a large landscape painting pinned to the wall.

The collection was organized by the American Federation of Arts, and also will travel to the Grand Rapids (MI) Art Museum; the Northwest Museum of Art & Culture, Spokane, WA; The Taft Museum of Art, Cincinnati; Faulconer Gallery, Grinnell (IA) College; and the Veto Beach (FL) Museum.
