Elementary Flora

 

an association of plant species confined to a limited (approximately 100-1, 000 sq km) part of the earth’s surface and integral in genetic respects. The distribution of the species of an elementary flora within the area it occupies varies with the conditions prevailing in the habitat. Study of elementary flora is a convenient method of comparative floristics.
