Entamoeba

A genus of parasite amebas in the family Endamoebidae, including some species of the genus Endamoeba which are parasites of humans and other vertebrates.

Other nonpathogenic species were identified less frequently; Entamoeba hartmanni was found in 1.4% of the specimens, Iodamoeba buetschlii in 0.6%, and Chilomastix mesnili in 0.3%.
