(1) (FPS) See first-person shooter.

(2) (Frames Per Second) The measurement of the speed of motion sequences such as movies, TV and animation. Although motion seems continuous, it is actually a rapid sequence of static images called "frames." The simulation of realistic movement requires at least 15 fps.
