Facebook Messages

A unified messaging feature added to Facebook in 2010. Integrating email and instant messaging, it provided a conversation thread for the same person no matter which method was used. By default, only friends and their friends came into the inbox. Members were allowed to have a FacebookUserName@facebook.com email address, but the email service was dropped in 2014. Email messages sent to a facebook.com address are forwarded to the member's primary account at another email service. See Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp Messenger.
