(Marasmius oreades), a cap mushroom with a leathery fruiting body. The cap has a diameter of 2-5 cm and is usually flat with a mound in the middle; the stem is firm and slender. It grows during summer and fall on meadows, often forming a fairy ring. The mushrooms are consumed in both fresh and dried form, primarily in soups.
