Fethiye

 

a city in southern Turkey, in the vilayet of Muğla. Port on the Gulf of Fethiye in the Mediterranean Sea. Population, 11,000 (1970). The city’s economy is devoted to fishing and the harvesting of sponges. Chromium and manganese ores are mined in the vicinity.
