Fiedler, Fred E.

Fiedler, Fred E. (Edward)

(1922–  ) psychologist; born in Vienna, Austria. He emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1938. He taught at the University of Illinois (1951–69) and the University of Washington (1969). Among his works on industrial and organizational psychology and organizational behavior are A Theory of Leadership Effectiveness (1967) and New Approaches to Effective Leadership (coauthored, 1987).
