Firiuza

 

an urban-type settlement in Ashkhabad Oblast, Turkmen SSR, under the jurisdiction of the Ashkhabad city soviet. Firiuza is located 37 km from Ashkhabad, in a ravine of the Firiuzinka River. It lies on the northeastern slopes of the Kopetdag, at an elevation of 600 m. Firiuza is a climatic health resort. Summers are hot, with an average July temperature of 26°C, and winters are mild, with an average January temperature of 0.6°C. Precipitation is approximately 300 mm per year. The resort has a children’s sanatorium and two houses of rest.
