Fishing Line

an element of rod and tackle equipment in fishing (spinning). A fishing line is a thread (string, cord) carrying a fishhook (or spoon bait), a sinker, and sometimes a float. The fishing line is usually attached to a fishing rod (a long, flexible bamboo, juniper, or plastic stick) or a spinning reel (flier), small plank, disk, or the side of a boat or ship. Fishing lines are made of capron or other polymer thread or cord (spun) or horsehair. Fishing lines may be 0.1 to 10 mm thick and up to 200 m or more in length (for deepsea fishing).
