Fitch, Aubrey (Wray)

(1883–1978) naval officer; born in St. Ignace, Mich. He commanded one of the two task forces in the battle of Coral Sea (1942). He was superintendent of the Naval Academy (1945–47) and retired with the rank of admiral in 1947.
