flak jacket[′flak ‚jak·ət]
A jacket or vest of heavy fabric containing metal, nylon, or ceramic plates, designed especially for protection against flak; usually covers the chest, abdomen, back, and genitals, leaving the arms and legs free. Also known as flak vest.
