Flat Dry-Cell Battery

a variety of electric battery consisting of “dry,” series-connected voltaic cells having a flat sandwich structure (pancake coils). The use of pancake coils makes possible better use of the battery’s working volume and an improvement of its characteristics. The dimensions and electromotive force of a flat dry-cell battery depend on the dimensions of the pancake coils and their number; they vary within a wide range depending on purpose. Such batteries are mainly used as anode batteries, electric power sources in communication devices, and autonomous power supplies in geophysical instruments.
