Fluer
a folk wind instrument; a type of wooden, end-blown flute with a beaked mouthpiece at one end and an opening at the other. The fluer is found in Moldavia and the Balkan countries. It is from 250 to 350 mm long and has six finger holes arranged in two groups of three. The instrument produces a clear, forceful sound. It has a diatonic scale and a range of a seventh; overblowing increases the range to three octaves.
