Ford, Doug(Douglas Robert Ford), 1964–, Canadian politician. He worked at Deco Labels and Tags, a company his father cofounded, becoming responsible for operations after his father entered politics in 1995; he expanded into the United States, and became company president in 2002. He ran his brother Rob Ford's successful campaign (2010) for mayor of Toronto, and succeeded him on the Toronto city council (2010–14). In 2014 he ran unsuccessfully for Toronto mayor after illness led his brother to drop out of the race, and he returned to business. In 2018 he won the leadership of Ontario's Progressive Conservative party. Later that year, campaigning as a conservative populist, he won election to the legislative assembly, and led the party to a provincial win and became premier of Ontario.
