Established: Authorized as Fort McHenry National Park on March 3, 1925; redesignated on August 11, 1939.
Location:3 miles southeast of the Baltimore Inner Harbor and just off I-95.
Facilities:Picnic area, rest rooms (é), visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail. Entrance fee required.
Activities:Self-guided tours, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Successful defense of this fort in the War of 1812, September 13-14, 1814, inspired Francis Scott Key to write "The Star Spangled Banner."
