Location:8 miles south of Charleston in east-central Illinois.
Facilities:43 Class A campsites, 3 cabins, picnic areas, 8 shelters, pavilion, restrooms, playgrounds, 2 baseball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, hiking trails (2 @di), equestrian trail (4 miles), fitness trail, fishing pier (é), canoe launches.
Activities:Camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, baseball, volleyball.
Special Features:Unlike the flat prairies found in most of this part of Illinois, Fox Ridge is known for its steep, thickly wooded ridges, broad valleys, and miles of scenic trails.
