Freebase

A user-generated knowledge base launched by Metaweb in 2007. Google acquired Metaweb in 2010 and used Freebase to develop its own knowledge base (see Google Knowledge Graph). By mid-2015, Freebase was transferred to Wikidata. See Wikidata, knowledge base and Semantic Web.
