(frī`täl), city (1994 pop. 38,230), Saxony, E Germany; founded 1921. Manufactures of this industrial city include high-quality steel, machinery, leather and glass products. Coal was mined there until 1959.
The group - seven men and one woman aged between 20 and 40 and from Dresden and the nearby town of Freital - were found guilty of either forming a terrorist association and attempted murder or aiding and abetting the crimes.
