Fulk of Neuilly,
Fr. Foulques de Neuilly (fo͞olk də nöyē`), d. 1201, French preacher. His sermons and alleged miracles gave him a wide popular following in N France, and in 1199 Pope Innocent III appointed him to preach a new crusade (the Fourth Crusade). Tremendous crowds heard him, but he lost his following when the suspicion spread that he had misused some funds he had collected. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia™ Copyright © 2013, Columbia University Press.
