rs2243100 is an SNP located on GP1BA , and rs2238631 is located on TBXA2R (gene for TBXA2R).
GP1BA targeted mutation testing was subsequently performed and resulted in detection of 1 of 4 known PT-VWD mutations (c.763A>G, p.Met255Val, according to standard nomenclature).
In the HaemosIL assay plasma vWF is determined by turbidometric assay after it reacts with a reagent monoclonal anti-vWF (gp1ba platelet binding site) bound to latex particles (7).
The authors then performed exon 28 sequencing of the patient's VWF gene, (3) disclosing no abnormalities (excluding type 2B VWD), followed by sequencing of GP1BA that identified a previously reported gain-of-function mutation in the platelet VWF receptor, confirming PT-VWD in the overall data context.
