Gaudin, Juliet

(1808–87) Catholic religious foundress; born in Cuba. Emigrating to New Orleans with her parents, she became a friend of Henriette Delille and with her she cofounded the Sisters of the Holy Family (1842), a community of African-American Catholic nuns.
