Gibberella fujikuroi[‚jib·ə‚rel·ə ‚fü·jē′kü‚roi]
A fungal pathogen that causes bakanae disease, a seed-borne disease of rice that is characterized by the growth of excessively long internodes, through its production of plant growth hormones called gibberellins.
