Google News

A newsreader from Google that lets users combine selected news on a personal Web page. Introduced in 2002 for computers, mobile versions came later. Google News is quick and easy to set up and also supports traditional RSS and Atom feeds (see syndication format). In 2006, historical archives dating back over 200 years were added. See Google.

Although it will not be going back up on Google News Archive, the newspaper's president says that Milwaukee Public Library patrons will soon be able to access the archive again (without the library having to buy it for $1.5 million, which it understandably found to be an insulting, as well as budgetary-impeding, offer).

The Google News Archive has been "temporarily" taken offline, with its content only available through a regular web search.
In the former, we see Google Scholar, Google Book Search, the "Public Organization" program to access government data embedded in legacy information systems, Google News Archive integrating citations to content that costs, Google Universal Search, the new interface incorporating multimedia, etc.
