Google Sites

A website authoring and hosting service introduced in 2008 that is part of Google Workspace. Google Sites provides templates for people to fill in the blanks with images, text and links. A collaborative service, Sites lets multiple people work on the project. An existing website can be copied and turned into a Google Site for backup or to generate a template from which to develop a new site. To create a Google Site, users must have their own domain name, which becomes part of the URL. See Google Workspace and Google.


This Encyclopedia as a Google Site
Merely as a test in 2018, the website of this encyclopedia was published on Google Sites for a brief period. It took less than a minute to publish a working copy of computerlanguage.com. The URL was: sites.google.com/computerlanguage.com/website/home.
