Goriachinsk

 

a health resort in the Buriat ASSR, 186 km from the city of Ulan-Ude. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Baikal. Summers are relatively cool with average August temperatures of approximately 14° C, and winters are cold with average February temperatures of –19° C. Annual precipitation is about 300 mm. The mineral spring, whose water has a formula of

is used for baths. Patients are treated for diseases of the organs of motion and support, gynecological diseases, and illnesses of the peripheral nervous system. There are sanatoriums and bathhouses.
