Great People’s Khural

 

in the Mongolian People’s Republic the supreme organ of state power and also the sole legislative body. It is elected by the population at a ratio of one deputy per 4,000 people for a period of three years. The Great People’s Khural elects the Presidium of the Great People’s Khural, which consists of a chairman, one vice-chairman, a secretary, and six presidium members.
