It was not until 1948 when the first multicultural Greek-letter society, Beta Tau Sigma, emerged on the campus of the University of Toledo, Ohio (Hunter and Hughey 2013).
'The oldest existing Greek-letter society in Asia, the fraternity enters its centennial having contributed to nation-building with a generous share of leaders in government, the sciences and the arts,' it said.
