In fact, PMC served as a pilot project for the
Green Guide for Healthcare and had two main directives: Create an environment that promotes health and healing and reduce the impact on the natural environment in construction and operations.
Who she is: A champion of sustainable practices, Hansen spent 10 years with the Kaiser Permanente High Performance Building Committee, developing sustainable strategies, guidelines, and tools; helped develop the
Green Guide for Healthcare; and was a core member of the U.S.
The project has achieved a LEED Gold rating and served as a pilot in the
Green Guide for Healthcare v2,2 initiative.
The recent launch of LEED for Healthcare and its parallel, The
Green Guide for Healthcare (GGHC), as well as the growth of green teams and farmers markets at hospitals, illustrate several of the macro- and micro-trends that are emerging.
