Gregg, John Robert

(1867–1948) educator, publisher; born in County Monaghan, Ireland. Developing a system of shorthand, he taught it widely in England; emigrating to the U.S.A., in 1893, he founded a chain of schools to teach his system and a publishing company to produce manuals for students.
