Griazovets

 

a city that is the administrative center of Griazovets Raion, Vologda Oblast, RSFSR; railway station 48 km south of Vologda.

Griazovets has an automotive repair plant, a food industry, and an agricultural mechanization technicum. Griazovets was first mentioned as a populated area in 1538; it has been a city since 1780.
