Gunther, Gerald

(1927–  ) legal scholar; born in Usingen, Germany. He emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1938 where he received his education. He worked briefly as a law clerk before joining the faculty at Columbia University (1956–62) and then Stanford University (1962). An expert in constitutional law, he wrote Individual Rights in Constitutional Law (1970).
