Guze, Samuel Barry

(1923–  ) psychiatrist, educator; born in New York City. He was affiliated with Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. (1946), becoming president of its Medical Center (1971–89). He was a recognized expert in the fields of alcoholism and substance abuse, the psychology of criminal behavior, and the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
