H.264

(video, standard)
(Or Advanced Video Coding, AVC) A low bit rate visual communication standard used in video conferencing. H.264 was developed by MPEG and ITU-T VCEG to replace H.263.

H.264

An ITU standard for compressing video based on MPEG-4. H.264 is very popular, especially for high-definition video such as Blu-ray. Taking advantage of today's chips, H.264 can compress much larger frame sizes. Lower-resolution MPEG-2 quality is also supported at a greatly reduced data rate. See MPEG.

Advanced Video Coding (MPEG-4 AVC)
The H.264 enhancements are achieved using a large number of techniques dubbed "Advanced Video Coding" (AVC). Formerly the "H.26L" project by the ITU, H.264 is officially known as "MPEG-4 Part 10" by the ISO MPEG group, which jointly developed the codec.

H.264 Versions (Profiles)
Within Baseline, Extended, Main and High categories, H.264 is organized in more than 20 "Profiles" that cover resolution, bit rates and subsampling (see chroma subsampling). See SVC, HEVC, H.263, H.323, WebM, MPEG and codec.

The new BrightVR camera captures up to 4K 360 videos with H264 (from 5 to 25Mbps) video compression.
At this stage we are seeing that a 4K TV signal will need a bitrate of 20-30Mbps for contribution and between 10-15Mbps for distribution, comparable to the bitrate used with a codec H264 for an HD signal.
"Students should upload their short films/videos on YouTube in MP4 H264 format by March 15.
Here we use a tool for video processing named VirtualDub to compress the videos sequences with two different Lossy compressions [31]: H264 coding with a bit rate of 512kbps and MPEG4 coding with bit rates of 1500kbps and 1000kbps.
In order to compare the proposed DoI scheme with the RoI block-based approach (such as H264 and HEVC), we study the effect of RoI resolution on synthesized views by decoding texture images using DoI-Mask at different resolutions: full resolution and 8x8 and 16 x 16 block resolution.
There are certain situations in which the sequential approach is entirely unpractical, like the H264 video encoding [12].
