(Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, 230 E. Ohio St., Chicago, IL, www.himss.org) A membership organization founded in 1961 as the Hospital Management Systems Society (HMSS). With more than 30,000 individual and 500 company members, its mission is the improvement of healthcare through information technology.
