Haas, Walter A., Jr.

(1916–  ) business executive; born in San Francisco. Son of Walter A. Haas, head of Levi Strauss, he was vice-president, president, on the board of directors, and then chairman of the board during his career with the world's leading maker of blue jeans (1946–71). In 1980 he purchased the Oakland Athletics baseball team.
