Comments: 100% Solids modified Hansa yellow is more permanent and more transparent than conventional hansa yellow.
He taught himself to be a "color man," perhaps the only one in the United States, able to see a car pass by and tell you how to match the hue: "About 20% burnt sienna there, and 40% Hansa yellow medium..." He founded Robert Gamblin Artists Colors in Portland in 1980, and has since, with the business savvy of his wife, Martha, grown it into a 20-employee firm that's a significant player in the narrow U.S.
For applications not requiring high heat stability, a full range of inorganic colors as well as organic toluidine red, hansa yellow, and DNA orange are offered.

Just as diarylide yellow pigments replaced lead chromate in the printing industry 40 years ago so could Lansco 2574 Hansa Yellow 74 or Lansco 2155 Azo Yellow 155 replace diarylide piments in printing inks some time in the future.
