Harbison, John (Harris)

(1938–  ) composer; born in Orange, N.J. After studies at Harvard, Princeton, and in Berlin, he taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1969. He is admired for writing communicative music with an eclectic blend of techniques.
