Harland, Thomas

(1735–1807) watchmaker, clockmaker, silversmith; born in England. He came to Norwich, Conn. (1773) and made fine watches and clocks. By 1790, he had apprentices from all over the U.S.A. and his shop was producing 240 watches and clocks per year.
