Haverhill fever[′hāv·ə·rəl ‚fē·vər]
An acute bacterial infection caused by Streptobacillus moniliformis, usually acquired by rat bite, and characterized by acute onset, intermittent fever, erythematous rash, and polyarthritis. Also known as streptobacillary fever.
