This was due to the occurrence of species of Hymenostomatida, Heterotrichida, Hypotrichida and Peritrichida only in this portion of the water column, once these orders are greatly made up by littoral and benthic species (BERGER; FOISSNER, 2003).
In the dry season, although higher density and biomass had been verified for species of the orders Heterotrichida and Peritrichia, mostly comprised of benthic species, other species with great values of these attributes in the present study, Pelagovorticella mayeri, Tintinnidium sp.
