Hofsjökull

 

a glacier in central Iceland. The glacier covers an area of 996 sq km and reaches an elevation of 1,765 m. Oval in shape, it covers a mountain massif that is also named Hofsjökull. The Thjórsá, Blanda, and Hvitá rivers are fed by the meltwaters of the glacier.
