city (1990 pop. 29,809), seat of Christian co., SW Ky.; inc. 1804. Fertile agricultural lands surround Hopkinsville, which is a leading tobacco and livestock market. There is also diverse manufacturing. Ft. Campbell, a major U.S. army base, is nearby.
