Hosler, Charles (Luther, Jr.)

(1924–  ) meteorologist, university administrator; born in Honey Brook, Pa. He spent his entire academic career at Pennsylvania State University, joining the faculty in 1948, becoming a full professor in 1958. In 1985 he became senior vice-president for research and dean of the graduate school, retiring in 1992. His meteorological research focused on cloud physics and dynamics for the purpose of weather modification.
